*In the November 2011 issue of Black Enterprise Magazine, Los Angeles based Dessert Company, Southern Girl Desserts was chosen as one of four “Cupcake Queens” in the entire nation.

Food Network’s Cupcake Wars (Season 1) contestants, Southern Girl Desserts located at 5571 W. Pico Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90019 represents Los Angeles on page 94 of the ‘Food Is My Passion’ issue. The other three companies are based in Pennsylvania, New York and Georgia.

Southern Girl Desserts owned by Catarah Hampshire and Shoneji Robison just completed its second month in their new dessert bar, shared with Cordially Invited gift wrapping and stationary store on the revitalized Pico Blvd, just a half mile west of Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles. Southern Girl Desserts provides a southern inspired selection of desserts including cupcakes, cakes, cookies and pudding.

“We feel humbled and blessed to be the lone representation of desserts in Los Angeles said Catarah Hampshire, co-owner of Southern Girl Desserts and look forward to expanding our business and partnerships in the Los Angeles community.
