Eddie Murphy and John Witherspoon in a scene from "A Thousand Words"

*Just one day after Eddie Murphy’s Oscar exit, the teaser trailer for his delayed comedy “A Thousand Words” has its debut.

The Paramount/DreamWorks film, due in theaters March 23, 2012, stars Murphy as Jack, a man who will do anything to get what he wants (like faking a birth via phone to get to the front of the line at a busy coffeeshop).

But when he promises to publish someone’s book, he’s way in over his head; in fact, when he talks, all the leaves fall off a magical tree, threatening his very existence on Earth until he has only a finite number of words left before his death, hence the title.

Clark Duke, Kerry Washington, Justina Machado and Jack McBrayer co-star in the Brian Robbins-directed film.
