*Talk show diva, Wendy Williams, got really excited on her show last Wednesday when she told her audience members Oprah sent her a personal letter stating that she and Gayle King’s relationship were just dandy. This came after speculation that the two were feuding because Gayle is leaving Oprah’s OWN channel for the CBS morning news show.
Williams even showed the letter.
But on Friday on the Tom Joyner radio show, King said Oprah never sent a letter.
“The letter that I heard Wendy read — I didn’t see it — I know Oprah never wrote a letter to Wendy,” King told Joyner. “I said, ‘I’m getting all these messages that you wrote a letter to Wendy,’ and she goes, ‘Gayle, you know more than anybody knows that that’s not true,’ number one.”
But she also made sure to let the world know that she and Oprah’s relationship isn’t over.
Williams speculated that King’s move from the OWN network to host CBS’ new morning show was a sign of a tattered friendship.
But King said Oprah was the one who encouraged her to take the new job.
She recalled, ‘[Oprah] said, ‘Are you kidding? This is so what you do, the news is what you love… you would be crazy to pass it up!'”
