*Denzel Washington isn’t quite set to star in the big screen adaptation of the late 80s vigilante crime-solving TV series “The Equalizer,” but it’s clear that he’s now Sony’s choice.
The movie was first announced about a year ago, but it was set to star Russell Crowe.
But as we said, the studio is wants Washington to star as Alex Siskind this time around.
Just in case you aren’t too familiar with the show, the plot centers around a former secret agent , played by Edward Woodard, with a “mysterious past.” He tries to atone for his sins by offering his services as an investigator free of charge.
The show ran for five seasons on CBS.
