The 46 year old pleaded guilty for identity-theft and was sentenced to five years probation earlier this year. She used a family friend’s identity for financial gain, throwing Khaula Bakr into more than $55, 000 in debt. Shabazz admitted she used the stolen credit cards to pay for her own bills and other expenses.
But as part of a plea agreement, Shabazz promised to make monthly restitution payments of $1,229 for 50 months. However, no payments have been made just yet.
It almost looks like she has no regard for the law. Shabazz is accused of traveling outside of New York and living in a place that is against the limitations of her probation, reports the NY Post.
Before she came before Queens Supreme Court Justice Fernando Camacho on Tuesday, $800 was found in her possession.
