*CNN’s T.J. Holmes is stepping down from his weekend anchor chair at the end of the year, TVNewser has confirmed, according to media columnist Richard Prince.

According to a report in Journal-isms, Holmes is headed for Black Entertainment Television, according to a source familiar with Holmes’ situation.

BET plans to build a show around Holmes, 34, the source said. However, neither Holmes nor spokeswomen for BET were available for comment, says Journal-isms.

Born Loutelious Ann Holmes Jr. in West Memphis, Ark, (“T. J.” is short for “Telious Jr.”),  Holmes is also an anchor for “CNN Saturday Morning” and “CNN Sunday Morning.”

Holmes has one teenage daughter with his ex-wife, college sweetheart, Amy Ferson. The two divorced in 2007, the year he briefly dated Chilli (Rozonda Thomas) of TLC. He married a second time, in March 2010, to Marilee Fiebig, an Atlanta-area attorney.
