*There’s no question that Sexyy Red is getting plenty of notice as one of today’s hottest rappers. To that, enter Yung Joc, who is offering a bit of wisdom and caution to help the “SkeeYee” entertainer stay-herself while navigating being famous.

HotNewHipHop cites an interview Joc did for VladTV, in which he brought real talk to Sexyy Red. During the chat, the “Love and Hip-Hop: Atlanta” fixture advised Red on the importance of staying grounded and checking any ‘hoe spirits’ that may open her up to be exploited by those out to use her for their own purposes.

Although he appreciates Sexyy Red’s realness and sees her displaying a sense of comfort with her own identity, Joc urges her to stay mindful of the attention she’s gaining.

“She’s not trying to pretend to be something she’s not,” the “It’s Goin’ Down’ rhymer said. “I think she’s comfortable in her truth. But I think she has to be careful with being exploited.”

Expanding on what he said, Joc touched on how Sexyy Red presents herself to the public with his observations of the rap star. Knowing how influential she can be on young fans, Joc countered speculation of him criticizing Red with the awareness that her actions should demonstrate a sense of responsibility. In addition, Joc urged Sexyy Red to maintain sensitivity and discretion, particularly when it comes to censorship.

“I’m seeing the way she presents herself, and it’s not that she don’t know better,” he said. “It’s what she’s comfortable with doing. I’m not knocking Sexyy Red. I don’t want anybody to think I’m knocking her. I just think she should be a little more sensible when it comes to the censorship because these babies be listening to this s**t, you know what I’m saying? Gotta check those hoe spirits.”

Joc’s comments come amid a stellar year for Sexyy Red, who was recently named “one of the biggest breakout artists of summer 2023” by Billboard and attracted looks with her performance and Best Breakthrough Hip-Hop Artist nomination at the 2023 BET Hip Hop Awards. In addition to featuring on Drake’s “For All The Dogs” alum, she has collaborated with DaBaby (“Shake Sumn” remix), Tay Keith (“Pound Town”), Nicki Minaj (“Pound Town 2”) and NLE Choppa (“Slut Me Out” remix).
