Actress Amber Riley arrives at the 18th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards at The Shrine Auditorium on Jan. 29, 2012 in Los Angeles

*The long awaited all-Michael Jackson episode of “Glee” is finally upon us.

Premiering Tuesday (Jan. 31) at 8 p.m. on Fox, the show’s stars will perform songs from the King of Pop for the entire hour. Co-star Amber Riley, who plays powerhouse singer Mercedes, is particularly happy with the solo she was assigned.

“My favorite Michael Jackson song is ‘Human Nature,’ and I get to do it in this episode,” Riley said in interviews for Tuesday broadcast, simply titled “Michael.”

In fact, two years before this very special “Glee”was even conceived, Riley was asking producers if she could someday belt “Human Nature” on the show.

“People were asking me in interviews, and I kept saying, ‘I would love to do “Human Nature.”‘ And I actually sang it on ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ in London,” she said. (Scroll down to watch). “So, it’s really crazy that it’s coming into fruition, and two years later I get to do it on the show.”

MJ’s music – including “Wanna Be Starting Something ” and “Smooth Criminal” (click to watch) – will enhance several storylines in the episode, including the continuing rivalry between New Directions and the Warblers en route to Regionals, Kurt and Rachel’s admissions drama at NYADA, and the sparks between Sam and Amber’s Mercedes, where her rendition of “Human Nature” will mash up with his performance of “Nature Boy.”

Below, Amber talks about how Michael’s particular style of singing forced every cast member to “bring their A-game” in the recording booth like never before.
