*Although TMZ broke the news that Heidi Klum has filed for a divorce from Seal following six years of marriage (and multiple vow renewal ceremonies), the couple tells People.com that they are actually “separating,” not divorcing.
“While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate,” they said in a written statement to People.
“We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. This is an amicable process and protecting the well-being of our children remains our top priority, especially during this time of transition. We thank our family, friends, and fans for their kind words of support. And for our children’s sake, we appreciate you respecting our privacy.”
TMZ, however, stands by its story that Heidi wants an outright divorce, and that it has everything to do with his “volcanic temper.”
“Seal’s inability to control his anger has become too much for Heidi to take, in no small part because it’s affecting their children,” according to TMZ.
The website says the couple will file divorce papers in LA County Superior Court early next week and cite ‘irreconcilable differences’ as the reason for the split. TMZ says the breakup “has nothing to do with infidelity,” and quotes one source as saying, “It was a long time in coming” on Heidi’s part.
TMZ is also reporting that their divergent careers played a part in Heidi’s decision:
She has become a mega-entrepreneur and extremely rich, and that professional evolution has created a distance between them. For his part, Seal has a new album coming out and he’s about to launch an international tour. We’re told Heidi and Seal are still living under the same roof, but that will change very soon.
Volcanic temper huh??? Hmmm!! there is always three sides to a story/relationship. If true then it is best they go their separate ways before something worse happens. Anyway, all of the PDA and marriage advice and renewing their vows every year was over kill IMO. all the best I hope they stay amicable for the children’s sake.

While we honestly dont know what really went down for them to go down the divorce road, you just never know what really goes behind closed doors. I thought they were a great couple. Another one bites the dust.
It sounded too good to be true. I saw her say how she was first attracted to him because of the size of his package. Usually when one partner is extremely successful and the other not so much it doesn’t work out. There are lots of excellent therapies out there to help folks with anger issues. Maybe they will work it out eventually.
Oh, I BELIEVE the temper part (even though I don’t think that’s ALL of it), but I will say no more about that because it’s still too early in the week to be jumped all over.
I’m always suspicious of couples who act as though they are completely delirious and besotted with one another at every turn. Remember Billy Bob and Angelina Jolie’s antics?? They had matching tattoos and even wore vials of each other’s blood around their neck. Another example is Roseanne Barr and Tom Arnold. So I’ve been kinda expecting Seal and Heidi to tank but it happened much sooner than I thought.
A part of me believes Heidi stuck with Seal outta gratitude for rescuing her while pregnant with another man’s child. Now I’m hearing rumors she was tired of his hard partying ways and there is some tension over her superior earning power. She’s supposedly very friendly while Seal is not and she had to tone herself down in his presence. Lastly, it wouldn’t surprise me if she’s stepping out with a white man waiting in the wings. Whites do not distance themselves from their own while dating/marrying non-Blacks. However, it’s clear some Blacks feel obligated to act as if they are the sole property of the race they partner with and must exclude/shun their own lest they offend their non-Black mate and her community.
Hmmm!! hard partying ways??? Seal does not appear to be the PARTYING TYPE IMO!! I do agree that Heidi is very friiendly and quite humorous almost bawdy when she is on TV shows. LOL!!! I also agree with you Melody about the income Yes, Heidi makes alot of money and it is probably more than Seal he tours but he has not had a hit in a while now( It is a shame because he is very talented alot more than the pop crap that is on the charts now).
babycakes, they claim she’s upset about what he does on tour. I believe this divorce is going to hurt Seal’s ability to attract concert-goers and fans to purchase his CDs. He’s being painted as mean, abusive, angry etc…but I would never have picked up on that from him. I can’t defend Seal but I believe this is shaping up to be a one-sided free-for-all against him now that she’s given the signal. Seal’s about to learn some serious lessons about how whites really feel about him rescuing this fragile damsel in distress.

Well, she must have a good pre-nup, otherwise Seal should be looking at a petty decent divorce settlement.
I mean, after Kobe and Tiger, we finally going to see a brotha getting paid by beckey. Right?
Nah. I wouldn’t bet on it. He probably lucky to walk away without having to pay alimony.
Apparently, a settlement is not an issue. They are NOT getting divorced, just separating. There’s nothing to see here.
