*Venessa Bryant has scored a $75 million divorce settlement from husband Kobe Bryant, according to TMZ.com.
She’ll reportedly receive it in the form of a huge lump sum as well as three properties the couple owns in Newport Beach, California.
Sources say Vanessa will take full ownership of the mansion the pair lived in, as well as the new home they had been building for the past two years. Furthermore, she is now the owner of a third property where her mother had been living.
The $75 million payout is exactly half of the couple’s estimated $150 million fortune. According to the New York Post, it’s still unclear when Vanessa filed for divorce from the NBA star, but Kobe signed the paperwork on Dec. 1, 2011.
A joint statement by the former couple read, “The Bryants have resolved all issues incident to their divorce privately with the assistance of counsel and a judgment dissolving their marital status will be entered in 2012.” .
The couple had never signed a prenuptial agreement, meaning they were forced to split their fortune 50/50 by Californian law.

A friend said she pulled out of Abysinnian Church almost immediately after his death. Those folks don’t give a damn about their husbands’ communities…only their own. Amani Toomer placed his Russian bride at the head of a foundation for underprivileged kids and she wouldn’t dispense any of the funds…then tried to divorce him for half his assets. Stephanie, I truly believe it’s a source of great pride for these men to hand their assets over to non-Blacks. If you lurk on certain sites they actually discuss striving for success just to have access to them. He has enough to live on hopefully for the remainder of his days.
Vanessa will surely align herself with her own and doubt she’ll have to date another Black man now. I wonder if Kobe did anything as significant for his family as Vanessa did for her mother by setting her up sweet. Loida Lewis is definitely working like a devil on behalf of Filipinos so they don’t care who she married to get that kinda loot.

I co-sign, Nightshift. I am not mad at her either. Kobe never thought about her race, and neither do I. What I see here is a WOMAN who did not let a man have his cake and eat it too. I wonder how much CHILD SUPPORT he’s going to have to pay.
This has nothing to do with race but rather California’s laws regarding the division of marital assets in the event of a divorce. Kobe was stupid enough to marry a woman, race nonewithstanding, without a pre-nup. In my lifetime, I will NOT amass the fortune that Kobe has. But, you can damn sure believe if I ever marry, I will have my future husband sign a pre-nup. And, if my future husband is smart, he’ll have me sign one.
I could give a hot damn if Kobe married a Latina, let alone an alien. If certain black men want to marry women of other races, so be it. There are still a lot of black men who still love us and those are the ones I concentrate on.
