Baker Althea Hickman and her cake weren't good enough for the King
*LeBron James is in the middle of some cake madness. He ordered two cakes for his 27th birthday bash but ended up pissing off one of the bakers, according to Gossip Extra.
Passion for Pastry owner Althea Hickman delivered a $3,000 birthday cake, free of charge for a supposed “sponsorship deal.”
But it wasn’t even used.
“It was a great cake,” Hickman said. “I could’ve blown it off because I had so much work with the holidays, but I came through. I don’t even known what they did with it at this point.”

Two days before the party with a celebrity list of attendees, the baker received a frantic email requesting an emergency cake fore the NBA star.
“URGENT!” the email read. “NEED CAKE FOR LEBRON JAMES BIRTHDAY THAT WILL BE HOSTED AT THE SHELBORNE HOTEL BY DWADE, GAB UNION AND HEAT TEAMMATES.”
But she couldn’t charge for the creation because James wasn’t going to pay for it, however she was promised by the marketing director of the Shelborne South Beach hotel, where the party was held, that photos of her cake would be distributed to the press.

In a whirlwind, Hickman hired designed a five-tiered white cake that was definitely fit for a king. She worked around the clock and even hired extra help to deliver the free cake only to find out that the cake she created wasn’t even used for the party. The photos distributed to the press were of another cake: a five-tiered rum cake with with gold lion heads, was made by Miami’s Divine Delicacies (see photo below).
But some good news did come out of the whole situation. The NBA All-Star player announced his engagement to long-time girlfriend Savannah Brinson.

Surely she wasn’t upset with him he did not order the cake. I assume she is angry with the Shelborne Hotel person who sent her the message! I like her cake but the other cake was really pretty and looked vbetter than her cake! i see why he chose it!

I don’t think her’s is the better cake, but I’m pretty sure she’s happy. In the end she end up getting even more publicity from the controversy.

I’m more concerned about that fact that Lebron James is only 27 but looks 45.
