McDonald’s Partners with Young Black Scholars to Present 2012 Conference

Free One-Day Conference Aims to Jumpstart the College Admissions Process for 8-12 Grade Students and their Parents

McDonald’s to Present 21st Annual Young Black Scholars Family Conference Saturday, March 3 at Cal State Long Beach

*Los Angeles  – McDonald’s will present the 21st Annual Young Black Scholars Family Conference on Saturday, March 3 at California State University, Long Beach.

Themed “Marked for Excellence,” the free one-day conference will help prepare 8th through 12th grade students and their parents on the college admissions process.

The conference will take place from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will conclude with a mini college fair.  Registration is free for all Southern California students in grades 8 through 12.  Individuals can register online at www.youngblackscholars.com. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all participants, free of charge, by the McDonald’s Operators’ Association of Southern California.

Celebrating 25 years, the Young Black Scholars college preparatory program is a component of 100 Black Men of Los Angeles, Inc. and has assisted more than 21,000 African-American students into college.  More information on the program is available online at www.youngblackscholars.com or by sending an email to info@100bmla.org.
