*Michelle Obama is being blamed for going on a $50,000 luxury lingerie shopping binge at a New York boutique.
According to rumors reported in the British daily The Telegraph, Madison Avenue was partially closed off for the first lady.
The publication pointed the finger at Mrs. Obama for lightly dealing with taxpayer’s money by going on useless shopping sprees.
“Michelle Obama has risked the wrath of cash-strapped Americans by indulging in a $50,000 shopping spree at Agent Provocateur… ‘Along with the Queen of Qatar, Sheikha Mozah, she closed off part of Madison Avenue to spend time in the luxury lingerie shop.”
But the White House issued a furious statement, denying the claims 100 percent.
However, the rumor turned out to be a positive for the shop, as it reported a significant increase in sales.
This isn’t the first time the first lady’s spending habits have been questioned. In the past the media has publically ridiculed Obama for her expensive taste and love for luxurious trips.
