pariah still shot*The holiday weekends always seem the like the best time for good movies. At No. 1, “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol” blew other films out of the box office, raking in over $300 million worldwide. “Sherlock Holmes” and “We Bout a Zoo” also came up in ranks over the weekend.

But one underdog and independent film, “Pariah,” has done exceptionally well for itself, making almost $81,500 with a limited release in only four theaters nationwide, reports Shadow and Act.

The film will be available in more theaters come Friday (01-06-12).
