*The video for Nicki Minaj’s new single “Stupid Hoe” has been banned from BET, according to TMZ.
The website spoke to a rep at the network and although they have not confirmed exactly what it is about the video that brought the ban, they are reported to have said that the video is “just too explicit for TV.”
The song’s chorus has Minaj repeating, “You a stupid hoe, you a you a stupid hoe” and has her dressed in a variety of wigs and outfits, sporting bright, pastel colored makeup and occasionally, digitally-enlarged eyes.
The video also makes mention of the fact that Minaj will be appearing live at this weekend’s Super Bowl. The artist is scheduled to perform her single with headliner Madonna and M.I.A.
Today, the Daily Mail also reported that Nicki Minaj may be on Simon Cowell’s list of potential “X Factor” judges, as well as Katy Perry and Mariah Carey.

Yes those were the days. You seem to be stuck in them. Talent is subjective. MC Lyte is the best female MC of all time in my eyes, but that was a different time. This is Nicki’s time. She has to have some “talent’ to do what she’s doing right? She’s decent on the mic when she stops acting stupid. She just found her lane and is capitalizing off it. You can’t be mad at that can you?
The entire thing is just bad. I felt like watching this she’s gotten to the point where doesn’t care because she has arrived. Unfortunately, many artists get that point, Beyonce, etc.,but she hasn’t been in the game long enough. She has talent and this video diminishes it, big time. Missy Elliot may have had unique imagery, but most of her lyrics were good as were the beats. There’s nothing redeeming about this. I hope her next single is decent.
