*A whole lot of black women had a beef with Chris Rock when he produced “Good Hair” and shed a light on black hair care dollars and sense.
The documentary opened up a dreadful side to the billion dollar black hair care industry and the harmful toxins used to give black women the coveted silky manageable hair.
But, now an even more disturbing report has entered the scene via a study conducted by Boston University which proves that relaxers used to straighten black hair have a proven link to the fibrous tumors that

Hair relaxer and fibrous tumors? I would like to see more information on how the two are linked, growing up my father never liked it when me, my mother and sister straighten our hair with a hot (straightening) comb or dare I say “relax’ our hair with a cream relaxer, he always encouraged us to wear our hair natural. This is during the time Dark & Lovely and Gentle Treatment were popular relaxers lol…..I get my hair done at a hair salon, although I don’t get my hair relax as much as I use to, maybe three times throughout the year.
I never concern myself or make it my business how someone chooses to wear their hair, its a personal choice, I do what works for me. My husband’s mother always said that these hair weave, relaxers and hair dyes, will ruin your brain, make you *crazy* (sigh)…every time she says that, I always ask her what about the people who wear their hair natural, what’s their excuse, what makes them *crazy*? *hint hint*…lol
