*There is a scary map out there for every neighborhood in America.

It has little red dots all over it and those dots represent the sex offenders in your area. But now, they may have to get a dot for churches if they find one more sex offender in the pulpit.

A Jacksonville, Florida minister, Darrell Gilyard, who was recently released from prison in December, confessed to committing

*smh* They knew what they were doing when they pushed religion – especially Christianity – on people…especially Black people. And I’m Black, btw…of African descent born and living in America. To watch the video and hear the comments is yet another confirmation of how dis-empowering blind belief can be. When I look at the Black Church, generally speaking, I see a lot of emotional manipulation. I feel that many of our people really want to ‘do the right thing’ (as we see it)– they don’t want to party anymore or all the ‘time’, they may not want to drink or smoke or partake in “illegal” drugs and substances labeled as drugs, they’re looking for spiritual assistance and they want to fellowship with others who want some of the same things they do. Hey, what is wrong in wanting that? Nothing, imho. But the errors come in when we forfeit our God-given intelligence and choose to listen to-blindly follow- and reward the very people/things that go against God. We don’t research and read enough…I’m not talking about fiction, either, although there is a place for it. We, too often, hand that responsibility over to the preacher wo/man without confirming it ourselves. And who gave us this religion in the first place? This is the most important question we seemingly refuse to ask and answer. In all things we must consider the source. The answer is in plain view and has been since it was given/forced on us. I’m not a preacher so I’ll digress but I Love my people – I’m working on loving ALL people – especially those I most closely relate to and I’m just tired of seeing us struggle and be taken advantage of when it doesn’t even have to be this way– it doesn’t! I’ll say this last thing and I’m out, and it’s nothing new: Those who won’t treat you right won’t teach you right. And that’s not just about the church, that’s across the board.

Sex offenders in the pulpit, this goes on more than we care to admit. I think black people are the most forgiving, Godly people on this planet. No way would I sit, listen, praise, and support a sex offender. Churches have become a breeding grounds for perverts, many will say they were violated in the church. This sickens me on every level, I don’t care if I’m passing judgement I call it as I see it and that child molesting pervert is not fit and has no business in ANY church pulpit!
