Giancarlo Esposito to Guest Star on ‘Community’

*Giancarlo Esposito will moonlight from his regular gig on ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” to drop in on the NBC comedy “Community.”

A rep for Sony Pictures Television tells New York Magazine that he’ll play Gilbert, a business associate of Pierce’s (Chevy Chase) extremely crabby father.

NBC has yet to announce a return date for “Community” since pulling it from the schedule last December, though production continues on the remainder of Season 3.

On “Once Upon a Time,” Esposito plays crooked reporter Sidney Glass (in the show’s present day) and the Magic Mirror (in the show’s parallel fairy tale world). He was also once the Genie in the lamp.

Last year, he wrapped a memorable turn as ruthless-yet-soft-spoken drug dealer Gus in AMC’s “Breaking Bad.”
