don lemmon & jesse jackson*After Saturday’s moving home going services for Whitney Houston, if you missed it, CNN’s Don Lemon asked Reverend Jesse Jackson about the now infamous Bobby Brown incident.

Jackson first responded on the ceremony itself, saying about Whitney that “her music will last a long time and she will have a bigger impact than her appreciation of why she was alive” and that it was a wonderful event.

Regarding the incident that resulted in Bobby and others leaving the ceremony, he noted that of Brown’s entourage:

“four of five of them were sitting in the front row, they didn’t make proper accommodations for him to move.” Jackson claimed that he “tried to get him to stay,” and “it was a very difficult moment for all of us” and “painful in an otherwise tremendous and inspiring service.” He claimed that Brown’s reaction to the seating issue was “very positive” and “it seemed they could have accommodated him better than they did.”

He added an important detail: that Houston’s mother Cissy, and her granddaughter Bobbie Kristina, did not see any of what happened.

I’m glad to hear Bobbi Kristina and Cissy were not part of this Negroidian mess. Bobby should’ve come ALONE. Had he done so, he could’ve SAT NEXT TO HIS DAUGHTER!!!

I agree Bobby should have been treated better. They were very rude to him. I think they owe him an apology. Whitney would have wanted him there. Whitney maintained a friendship with Bobby after the divorce. Also I believe she would went to the funeral if it was Bobby Brown’s.

    Oh, my, God!

So the rumor is true. Bobby actually had the audacity to not only bring his illegitimate kids and woman to the funeral, but to place them in the front seat. The place reserved for family.
Did someone really have to tell him that he is an ex, and no longer part of the Houston family?

Are these not the same kids who were a source of embarrassment to Whitney and her family when it was later revealed that he had a string of them before proposing to her? And even more disrespectful, to have the woman of your ex sitting at a place reserved for family.
Can you imagine how much of an affront that was to the Houston family? I’m so glad that Cissy did not have to bear witness to this utter and total lack of respect on Bobby’s part.

Look folks, I know y’all are diehard fans of Bobby Brown. And believe me, I never harbor any animosity towards him, but certainly you can see how improper his behavior was. Yeah, we saw the Bravo realty series, and Whitney, being the strong woman she was, tolerated the reality of the existence of his other kids. But he knew her family was never comfortable about it. What was he thinking? To begin with, he was only supposed to have two guests with him. He brought more than three times that number. And even while sticking to the request for two guests, be sensitive to the Houston family. Why not bring your mom if she is still alive, your brother, friends. Anything other than your woman and outside kids. And if you had to bring them, for heaven sake, why on earth would you place them in the front row?! :?

I really don’t think Bobby is that clueless. I think his whole intention was to act in an antagonistic manner towards the Houston family. I guess because of their coldness towards him and their attempt to keep him away from his daughter, he thought he was going to have the last word at the funeral. No, Jesse. They did the right thing. How would you feel if someone try to humiliate you like that? And as for accommodation, that was no longer an option. He was in someone else’s seat. Bobby himself admitted that security asked him to move on three occasions.

    I agree with REDS.
Now to Messy Jesse. It was in bad taste for him to make any public comments about what went on. He needs to mind his own damn business. He has no idea if there were conversations about this before Bobby came and only saw the result. It was tacky to walk out of the church to a camera talking about what WH did or did not do.

SMH @ Al Tweeting about someone’s family business.

The bottom line is that it sounds like the father and siblings of Bobbi Kristina were not treated as her family at the funeral of her mother.

Regardless of what judgements a person can have of Bobby Brown, those judgements had no place in celebrating the life of a child of God… in the house of God.

Bobbys Mom died last year (I think it was) and his father Died Dec of last year. Whitney
went to the Mothers funeral I know sung (did several songs) and even sung with New Edition
Bobbys family excepted her as family…Though I agree with Rev Jesse Jackson (Messy as he’s
known>>>LOL) BOBBY should of left the other woman at home. Didn’t she use to work for
Whitney or was friend with her..then got wirh Bobby.? Far as the kids they were Whitney Step-
Kids and I heared her say she loved them…they are also BK sibblings….. I saw one of Bobby’s
son crying hystercially!!!! after they left out(that broke my heart) I believed they loved Whitney.
    What a Messs!!!!!!

Bobby should of brought his 2 guests be it his his brothers or his kids…the brothers or kids
could of sat in the audience while Bobby took the front seat to console his daughter.(I see
nothing wrong with that.) They might as well get use to it Bobby is Bobby Krisitina Father
for as long as she or he shall live..and KI believe Whitney would of wanted Bobbu their.they were
seen out 2 weeks b/4 she died Whitney Bobby and their daughter having dinner…They were
on friendly terms. I’m glad Bobby took the high road b/c he could of went off!!!. Whitney even
spoke at Bobby’s Mom funeral and said they would always be her family, that whys she came
and Mrs Brown was her daughter grandmother and she loved her.

Back To Rev Jackson I think he’s pissed b/’c he didn’t do the Eulogy…did they even have
him speak? (i DON’T THINK SO ) I was in a daze..but I don’t think him nor Rev Al Sharpton
spoke and they been knowning the Houston Loooooooooooooooooooooooooong b/4 the Winans..

Before I comment, is it confirmed that Bobby brought his new woman? Any photos to confirm or did CNN confirm that he did this? I am not in the US at the moment so I don’t see everything y’all see. Whitney was the step mother to his children, so I can understand how difficult it would be to select which child attends the funeral and which child doesn’t. Of course they all can’t sit on front row, but at least allow some of them to move. According to Bobby, they had to move at least 3 times.

And another thing- I was surprised to see Jesse in the pulpit. Was his presence even acknowledged by the Pastor or Dionne? He probably camped out for hours at the church to make sure he beat Al Sharpton to the seat.

I was shocked not to see Al Sharpton in the pulpit and even more shocked not to have heard a peep out of him. I was wondering whether he had attended at all since he was all up in Etta James’ and Michael Jackson’s services.

And last thing– Why does New Hope Baptist Church look like it’s in the middle of a battle ground in Iraq? Bombed out looking buildings in the background. I know people around the world are like damns, where in the US is that? I always said that Newark and the surrounding East Orange-Irvington areas should be burned to the ground and then re-built.

Apparently, the Winans asked for permission and had approval to have all of those guests. Bobby Brown received an invitation and which included one guests. Maybe he should have asked prior to bringing nine guests. I am sure the children would have been able to attend the private viewing the day before, if they had asked. Miss Cissy Houston is 78 years old. She just lost her daughter. Messy Jessie was wrong for commented to the media and adding to the drama.

I agree MissPrissy1. To accommodate all 9 of his people was a bit much IMO. It’s good he went on a left early.
