Assemblyman Davis greeting a job seeker

*Throughout the day, thousands of job seekers poured into Los Angeles’ Exposition Park on Saturday, February 4th,  for Assemblyman Mike Davis’ 5th Annual Job Fair. There were over 80 employers and agencies present for the occasion.

Free and open to all, the fair offered job seekers an opportunity to meet with employers that possess high-quality job openings and resource agencies with a wide range of employment services. The event – held in and outside the Wallis Annenberg Building– was a venue designed for attendees to learn about career opportunities, education and training options, apprenticeships, and other services available through public and private agencies.

Sponsors included the Employment Development Department (EDD); the Wilshire Metro/Compton WorkSource Center; Southeast LA-Crenshaw Workforce Center; Los Angeles Sentinel; Mothers In Action; Florence Western Medical Clinic; and various other local government and private organizations. Utilizing a basic resource, Assemblyman Davis continues to partner with the EDD to make the connections for job seekers and employers and to keep the momentum going especially during these tough economic times.
