*Finally, someone admitted why they actually voted for President Barack Obama.
In an interview with Ebony Magazine, Samuel L. Jackson admitted that he was very adamant about the getting a black man into the White House in 2008.
“I voted for Barack because he was black,” Jackson revealed. “‘Cuz that’s why other folks vote for other people — because they look like them.”
That’s right, he said it.
“That’s American politics, pure and simple,” Jackson added. “[Obama’s] message didn’t mean sh*t to me. In the end, he’s a politician. I just hoped he would do some of what he said he was gonna do. I know politicians say sh*t; they lie. ’Cuz they want to get elected.”
But he started to get a little looser with it.
“When it comes down to it, they wouldn’t have elected a n*gga. Because, what’s a n*gga? A n*gga is scary. Obama ain’t scary at all. N*ggas don’t have beers at the White House. N*ggas don’t let some white dude, while you in the middle of a speech, call [him] a liar. A n*gga would have stopped the meeting right there and said, ‘Who the f*ck said that?’ I hope Obama gets scary in the next four years, ’cuz he ain’t gotta worry about getting re-elected.”
Dayuuum Sam, git funky wit-it, why don’t cha?

Really Samuel? All that?
But to your point, I would argue that at a minimum, 90% of us and many nonwhites voted for Obama Obama, in part, because he is black. This is a no-brainer!
No Sam, he won’t get SCARY.
sam, i dont think i woulda said that out loud……
He said the truth…LOL…I admit, I voted for him because he was black…and his wife was black too…LOL
Well
Samuel is a brilliant actor. Otherwise, he is an asshole.
Been a long time, since I crept through, and dropped some strong thoughts to vibe to, think of how many weak posts you read through, times up, sorry I kept you.
Wow, lotta O.P.s still posting on the EUR! Happy New YEARS to you all! Hmm…some new voices too – I can dig it.
But more importantly, WHAT TO DO ABOUT SAMMY? I mean, why not keep certain thangs in the beauty salons and barber shops where they belong? Know why? I personally believe that Quentin Tarantino fires off a royalty-type check to Sammy every time that he says the N word; whether with an “a” at the end, or with an “r”. You know, one of those “as long as you keep embarrassing your People, then I won’t have to” kind of payments. Eat and live well, Sammy! PS How’s that Twitter thang going for ya! How many times have you typed “M.F.” for ‘ol massa?
Look… I can’t be upset with Samuel for speaking on how he really feel. It may have not been the smartest thing to do, but I know what it’s like (after you’re reached a certain age) when you reallly, REALLY don’t give shyt what people think and you don’t mind putting it out there. The difference between me and Samuel is he’s rich, famous and don’t have an employed like I do to answer to. And if people are embarassed his comment and not by the unyielding popularity of Real Housewives Of Atlanta then we are in knee deep in trouble.
He has the right to say what he wants to say, but I know so many people who did the same ignorance. But on the other hand, people vote and support people based on attributes that have nothing to do with any type of job qualification all the time. I’m not embarrassed by what he said, there is way too much out there that we as black people do not say boo about as MrUnapologetic69 stated.
So you say all that to say what? The only thing I take from it besides it being foolishness is that you want Obama to be a n**ga these next four years. How ’bout you just continue to be one…it’s more than enough of ya’ll running around already.
If you can stand the self-flagellation go over to Huffinton Post at AOL or Netscape and real the other comments. OK.
I agree Mr. Unapologetic…..can’t get mad at him for voicing his opinion. He is one not to give a ish.
The fact of the matter, I voted for Senator Barack Obama because of his vision for america to include EVERYONE.. where in the past presidents only included the rich and gave them a voice to run this nation for the rich ONLY.. who wanted to divide this nation among culture and class revenue.
But I also voted for Senator Obama because he was african american.. and I wanted to be apart of voting for history( 1st US African American President) as well as sharing President elected Obama’s vision.
Hey people.. stop referring to Presidnet Obama ..as “Obama” its total disrespect..and those who want to make President Obama a one term president refer to him as “OBUMMER”.. which is intentionally showing disrespect..
SO WE AS A PEOPLE(african americans)- first need to STOP calling the president ” obumma” and show total respect for this nation’s first african american president as Mr. President –if you are lucky to meet him and I have.. or correct others who say “Obummer — no matter what race , creed or faith belief”..its President Obama to you.. not “Obummer or Obama”..
Yeah ok. We’ll stop referring to him as Obama when people stop reffering to “President Bush” as Bush.
Black folk need to stop w/this “don’t disrespect him” crap. It ain’t disrespectful, it’s common practice.
Well, Sam was being straight up. A lot of Black folks voted for Obama cuz he’s Black. Black people didn’t unite during the elections, come up with some issues bothering them. Say to a Obama, if you want the Black vote, you gotta address our issues. (Like other groups do) Yeah, Black folks just wanted a Black president.
