trey songz (anticipation-2our)*Trey Songz is a sucker for a good tour.

Especially if it involves a headliner who loves being live and in the flesh for his fans.

Fortunately for Songz, he is that main attraction on his Anticipation 2our. The outing is set to kick off Feb. 9 in Cleveland, with stops planned for Chicago, Los Angeles, Toronto and Nashville. According to the singer, the title of the tour goes well with his current mindset in delivering something worthwhile for fans.

“The wording is perfect because they [the fans] are in anticipation of another album right now,” Songz told EUR’s Lee Bailey. “For myself, I’m going out and giving them a treat while performing some records I’ve never performed before in my life. Records that haven’t been commercially released.”

The Anticipation 2our comes on the heels of the release of Songz’ “Anticipation 2,” a mixtape the singer labeled as “a body of free, all-original music” he created for his fans to tide them over until the release of his next full-length album, “Chapter V.” Although the Anticipation 2our plays to a much smaller crowd than the larger audiences Songz has sang in front of, the vocalist wouldn’t have it any other way as he vows to give his latest touring experience the same feeling that his mixtapes generate for listeners.

“I definitely love being out there on the road, just really seeing the people who love your music,” said Songz. “For the most part, I’ll be able to look out there and see people and look them in the eyes as I’m performing these records…just being out there and being able to be with the people who made me who I am, the people who genuinely love my music. The people whose lives I’m a part of through my music. We get to share a moment, a different night every night, every night, every night.”

Performing along with Songz on the Anticipation 2our will be rapper Big Sean. In Songz’ eyes, the G.O.O.D. Music rhymesayer is “a leader of the New School  right now,” in light of the success he’s encountered with his “Finally Famous” mixtapes, Nicki Minaj-featured remix to his hit single “Dance (A$$)” and debut album, also named “Finally Famous.” “I think people would love to see his performance as he’s come out this first year, rookie of the year with so many hits already. His future is very bright.”

Aside from performing live, Songz’ other passion lies in his Angels with Heart Foundation. The organization, founded in 2010, serves as the entertainer’s way of officially giving back to the community he grew up in as well as a vehicle for fans to follow his lead in giving back to their respective communities.

“Angels with Heart is basically igniting those people that I affect to be directly involved with something that’s for the betterment of the world,” Songz stated revealing how he would like after-school programs started by Angels With Hearts to consistently provide meals for hungry children as well as coats for kids during the cold winter months. “We’re very much in the very early stages, but I’m very excited about it.”
