We hear the popular producer and writer is in the middle of penning a new script based on a character for Diana Ross.
“I have the perfect role for her,” Perry told Hollyscoop.com. “And I haven’t shot that movie yet because I’m waiting for her to say yes.”
The new production takes place on a 1940s backdrop.
It’s a jazz movie set in the 1940s, and [Ross] would play a jazz singer who runs a juke joint, and I just wish she would do it.”
He didn’t say much else, but if Ross says yes, this could be a big screen hit.
Ross, who was nominated for an Oscar for her debut role as Billie Holiday in the 1972 classic, hasn’t appeared on the big screen since 1999’s “Double Platinum,” opposite Brandy.
