*Bishop Eddie Long returned to the pulpit on Sunday in royal fashion.
For his Jan. 29th service at New Birth Missionary Baptist Church, where he took a leave of absence late last year in the wake of child molestation allegations, Bishop Long featured a Rabbi, Ralph Messer, who spoke at length about why Long is a “king.”
Presenting what he claimed were 300-year-old sacred scrolls discovered some 70 years ago outside a concentration camp in Germany, Messer pronounced Eddie Long as king in “God’s government.”
To illustrate the point, Long’s aides lift him in his chair, which doubles as a throne, and carry him around the stage.

Actually she withdrew her petition to the court for divorce. All of this is pure foolishness.

No— six hours after she allegedly “withdrew” her petition, her lawyer issued a statement setting the record straight—she is filing for divorce and all future communications would come through her attorney only. It is believed that the statement of her withdrawing the petition was released to the press by New Birth and she had nothing to do with it.

This is the creepiest thing I’ve seen since Jim Jones and mass brain-washing. How theatrical
that he sits in the center of the stage at the apex of his symbol for New Birth and the lights go down and he looks contrite and humbled by being carried around.
He is a sham and he is recruiting a new flock of sheep….. truly sad.

This repulses me. I am a strong believer in God. But what happens in some of these mega churches and how they place these ministers and preachers on pedestals is just repulsive.
This is not doing Gods will. This is not saving souls. It is a shame the members of this congregation accept and tolerate this kind of behavior. That they fall for this nonsense.
It is amazing is all I can say.

I feel you, CNG. As a believer I have mixed emotions over this foolishness. On one hand, it disheartens me that this ‘false prophet’ gets so much media coverage and airtime, shaming the name of God and dragging down what little reputation the church as an institution has left, while those who are willing to serve God in Spirit and Truth and live the life that He expects are mocked and reviled for doing so because of fools like this. But on the other hand, what we are seeing is the prophecy that Paul and Timothy spoke of that would take place in these days. Long, and others like him, are nothing more than signs of what is to come. My hope in being one of God’s number only strengthens my resolve to love, serve, respect, fear, and obey Him in times like these…
