*In January, Bravo’s cocktail-driven talk show “Watch What Happens: Live” expanded to five nights a week – 11 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays – with a wider variety of guests invited on to imbibe, play party games and dish on episodes of “Real Housewives” and other celebrities – in addition to whatever project they’re supposed to be promoting.
Bravo’s executive vice president of development and “Watch What Happens: Live” host Andy Cohen takes pride in the caliber of talent he’s been able to book for the late night gathering, which has already included Patti LaBelle, Mary J. Blige and Oscar winners Ralph Fiennes and Holly Hunter, who appeared together in the show’s “Clubhouse” – in their pajamas.
Asked who his dream guest would be, Cohen said the first lady tops his list.
“I think Michelle Obama would be incredible. It’s an election year,” he says. “I think Madonna would be amazing. Diana Ross…some of my diva icons. And just I love funny people. I especially love funny ladies. So fill the Clubhouse with funny ladies and I’m good.”
As for his worst interview on “Watch What Happens: Live,” he reluctantly says it was singer-actor Tyrese, who appeared a bit stiff during his October 2011 appearance with “Real Housewives of Atlanta” co-star Kandi Burruss.
“I will say he was a great guest, but Tyrese was on recently and he was so scared of being on live TV, he was so freaked out that we were live that he shut down a little bit,” said Cohen. “We did a poll that night which was should shy should Tyrese show us his abs. And, you know, the viewers wanted to see it, but as it turns out he wasn’t feeling amazing about his abs that day, so no go on the abs of Tyrese.
“I’d love to have him back, though, and I’d love to see the abs.”
