KFI AM 640 Radio's John Kobylt, left, and Ken Chiampou, record their radio show at their station in Burbank, Calif.

*A pair of talk radio hosts in Los Angeles have been yanked off the air temporarily for making insensitive and inappropriate comments about the late Whitney Houston.

Effective immediately, KFI AM 640 hosts John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou have been suspended after calling the late singer a “crack ho” and saying she was “cracked out for 20 years,” according to audio posted online at UrbanInformer.com. [Listen below.]

KFI AM 640 management says it does not condone, support or tolerate statements of this kind.

John Kobylt said, “We made a mistake, and we accept the station’s decision.  We used language that was inappropriate, and we sincerely apologize to our listeners and to the family of Ms. Houston.”

John and Ken, who often rail against taxes and illegal immigration, will return to the air Monday, Feb. 27.

  1. Daaaaym.

So why are they so angry at her?
They weren’t just trying to be sensational.

And this took place in LA?!

I thought they would be from Utah or some place where you never see black people.

I don’t know why we always forget that we are not liked in all 50 states, and in every metro area where there are plenty of us. I am surprised it took this long for a white male in the mainstream media to say something this bad.

Yeah I have to agree… it’s racism rearing it’s big ole head again. Some of these knuckle-heads can’t contain themselves… they have to vomit that ugliness up. I’m so glad I am of a certain age now and no longer impulsive because shyt like that makes me want to grab a baseball and go up in that studio and tear something up. (smh).

  2. I guess the old saying is true about not speaking badly about the dead. In Wendy Williams decades on the radio, she has said the same if not worse when Whitney was living.

    • Yeah, but the difference is she’s not here to defend herself now. When Wendy Williams talked about her, she called up the radio station to talk to Wendy.

There is a old saying that says( Karma is a _______

Watch your thoughts, for they become words.
Watch your words, for they become actions.
Watch your actions, for they become habits.
Watch your habits, for they become character.
Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.

They both have showed listners they have no character!!!!!!!! Now, they will know the feelings of being judged and called out of their names!!!!! They have just set their destiny!!!!

  6. MelodyCool says:

These animals have obviously taken their lead from Imus. Wonder what they had to say about Amy Winehouse, Brittany Murphy etc etc. They lay in wait for prime opportunities to hurl vile insults in our direction. Despicable!

  7. musbdherbs says:

Although there wasn’t anything racist about it, they should’ve been suspended nonetheless.

    • While they didn’t blatantly say anything with regard to her race, that is a phrase that originated in the black community. So to some it COULD be taken as being a racist comment. Also, I have to agree with MelodyCool….they didn’t use a comment like this to describe Amy Winehouse, why use it to describe Whitney Houston? It was just blatant disrespect.

I do all of you one better. I’m the manager and I’m giving those 2 idiots a choice, either stand outside or inside the church where all of those greiving and angry mourners are holding up the sign of what they said word for word. Or fire them, either or, those are their choices.

  9. I think it’s pretty pathetic that people feel the need and assume they have the right to denigrate another person just for ratings, sensationalism, or because they think they themselves walk on water. Judge not lest you too be judged, by the “person” who really matters. this is a sad world we inhabit and it’s getting sadder every moment. have we forgotten that a child has lost her parent, or a mother her daughter, etc, etc. I would fire them completely and let them go find a job elsewhere.

    • I totally agree. It shows a total lack of respect for another human being. I’m pretty sure that they wouldn’t allow someone to talk that way about their mother.
