*“Gimme The Loot,” a film from writer/director Adam Leon, won the top prize at the SXSW Film Festival Tuesday night, taking the event’s best narrative feature prize.
Set in NYC, the film follows Malcolm and Sofia, whose latest graffiti masterpiece is buffed by a rival gang. The two determined Bronx teens must hustle, steal, and scheme to get spectacular revenge and become the biggest writers in the city.
“Gimme The Loot,” starring Tashiana Washington, Ty Hickson, Meeko, Zoe Lescaze and Sam Soghor, debuted to a huge response from the SXSW audience in Austin and buyers have been circling the title.
The film will screen next at the upcoming New Directors/New Films series, which opens later this month in New York.
