*This right here is some serious mess.
In Springfield, Massachusetts, an assistant basketball coach accused of biting off part of another coach’s ear at a Catholic Youth Organization game is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing, the district attorney’s office said.
Timothy Lee Forbes, 34, of Springfield, an assistant CYO coach, turned himself in shortly before noon yesterday, according to police Sgt. John Delaney.
Springfield police had been looking for Forbes since Friday, when they say the “brief but violent” assault took place at Holy Name School, where sixth-grade boys teams faced off in a championship game. Police said that after his team lost, Forbes bit off part of the ear of the winning team’s coach, who they described only as a 34-year-old Springfield man.
