*Spike Lee has apologized for retweeting what was thought to be the personal address of Trayvon Martin’s killer George Zimmerman. The address turned out to be an elderly couple’s residence.
Lee wrote:
I Deeply Apologize To The McClain Family For Retweeting Their Address. It Was A Mistake. Please Leave The McClain’s In Peace. Justice In Court
As previously reported, Lee retweeted the wrong info to his 240,000-plus followers last Friday. The original tweet–posted the same day by Marcus Davonne Higgins, a 33-year-old from Los Angeles, using the Twitter handle @Maccapone–was sent to several celebrities including Lee, 50 Cent and LeBron James. Higgins urged friends on Facebook to “REACH OUT & TOUCH” Zimmerman.
The couple–David McClain, 72, and his 70-year-old wife Elaine–had been living in fear after their Sanford, Fla., address, via Lee, was widely disseminated.

Spike really cannot unring the bell here, so to speak. If something happens to those people, I think he could be held liable. I hope that people will use calm before rushing out this house to do something stupid.
Lee’s tweet (or retweet?) was irresponsible and reprehensible. I think his actions were just as bad as Zimmerman’s alleged murder of Trayvon Martin because he could have gotten those innocent folks killed. Would he want somebody tweeting out his address so folk could reach out and touch him? I don’t think so. Let’s let the justice system do its job and trust God to render perfect justice in the event the courts fail to get this one right. God bless US-All. Fred@http://yurconnected.blogspot.com
You think tweeting the address of someone is as bad as killing them?
With his wife being an attorney, you would think he would know better…JUST STUCK ON STUPID
