*An NBC News probe found that one of its “seasoned” producers was responsible for a misleadingly edited clip of George Zimmerman’s 911 call the network broadcast during coverage of the Trayvon Martin shooting, network sources told Reuters.
More than half a dozen news staff were interviewed for the network’s internal investigation. NBC’s edited 911 call placed just before he shot Trayvon Martin made it appear Zimmerman immediately told police Martin was black, but the full recording reveals that the neighborhood watch captain mentioned the teen’s race when responding to a question posed by the dispatcher.
Network sources declined to identify the producer and did not indicate whether the producer or other staff would be subject to disciplinary action.
NBC has apologized for the incident but said it would not release names of employees involved. Execs have vowed to take rigorous steps to formalize mews division standards following the incident.

And what if he did?
He can’t edit the original.
Once the tapes were released, every news organization had access to them.
So what difference does it make if some idiot tried to edit his copy?
And since we are talking about editing, the original version released was edited.
F***ing coon was removed so that Zimmerman did not look like such a racist, and also to get a PG version.
There was a lot of editing going on with those tapes for all sorts of reasons, not necessarily nefarious.
Yet people continue to believe what they want to believe.
It is time that we look at the Trayvon Martin killing for what it is — a criminal homicide, only incidental to race. One cannot draw a much different conclusion by listening to the cries for help heard in the recorded 911 calls.
Even without them, however, it seems improbable that a confident, stocky-build man, with a gun in his holster, would need to beg for help — notwithstanding the claims of Zimmerman, his father and his brother. Our understanding of human nature and common sense tells us that such cries would come from someone who is severely threatened and acutely aware of his imminent death.
Any doubts of this are removed by merely listening to those multiple “help, help” pleas loud enough to be picked up during the 911calls. Aside from their heart-wrenching intensity, we also note that these cries go on for over a minute. Was Zimmerman telling Martin during that time that he was about to pull the trigger? Why else would Martin need to plead for help with such desperation?
If Zimmerman was threatening to shoot Martin in those two minutes before we hear the shot, what we have then is a cold blooded murder – and by one clever enough to now use our racial divide to get away with it. We should see through this tactic and not let him do so. Not only because such defense would further divide us, but also because an unrepentant criminal would get away with murder.

OMG, Kafantaris, Iisten to that link it that was such cold blooded murder. You don’t need a voice expert to tell that is the cries of young man.
