*Rumors of Sheree Whitfield’s firing from Bravo’s “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” kicked into high gear earlier this month after she as notably absent from the network’s April 4th upfront presentation in New York.
Then came a tweet later that day from co-star NeNe Leakes, which suggested that Sheree indeed got tossed from the cast.
“The news I just got was music 2 my ears! That’s why u don’t bite the hand that feeds u,” NeNe writes.
NeNe is referring to a piece in Sister 2 Sister magazine, which claimed Sheree asked producers for a higher salary, something comparable to NeNe, who reportedly earns $750,000 per season. Producers allegedly responded by firing Whitfield, causing the reality show star to cry and beg for her job back, according to S2S.
“If she’s dropped … she’s in a f—ed up place right now,” said the source, who couldn’t definitively confirm whether Sheree was fired or not. “The way Bravo operates is that they don’t tell you [anything]. So, I don’t know. I heard people talking about it, but until one of the producers tells me, I don’t know it for a fact.”
Neither Sheree nor Bravo have responded to the rumors yet, though Sheree did note via Twitter that she has been in the Caribbean for the past week with her children, which might also explain her absence from the Bravo upfront.
Part one of the “RHOA” reunion special aired last night with much of the focus centered on NeNe and her new money – this as a website posted what it claims are the salaries of each cast member.
Phaedra Parks: $300,000 per season plus a $75,000 bonus for filming the reunion show
Cynthia Bailey: $300,000 per season plus a $75,000 bonus for filming the reunion show
Kandi Burruss: $450,000 per season plus a $100,000 bonus for filming the reunion show
Sheree Whitfield: $550,000 per season plus a $150,000 bonus for filming the reunion show
Kim Zolciak: $600,000 per season plus a $150,000 bonus for filming the reunion show
NeNe Leakes: $750,000 per season, plus a $250,000 bonus for filming the reunion show
Kroy Biermann, husband of Kim: $50,000 and must be available for filming when producers call
Peter Thomas, husband of Cynthia: $75,000 and must be available for filming when producers call
Apollo Nida, husband of Phaedra Parks: $50,000 and must be available for filming when producers call
Marlo Hampton, friend of NeNe and member of The Talls: $75,000
“I’m rich” was NeNe’s constant mantra this past season and defined the way she acted toward the women during the reunion. She may not admit it, but there’s clearly an air of arrogance about her in the post-Celebrity Apprentice and Glee world that she’s living in. And while she may deny that money has changed her, there is a disconnect between the woman who proudly admits she was a stripper in her 20s and then can’t stomach being in the same room with Kandi Burruss’ new sex toy line.
Kim Zolciak made a couple good points in regard to NeNe’s wealth. First, rich people don’t have to continually say they’re rich. And second, Kandi is probably the wealthiest of the bunch with her song royalties, clothing shop, Kandi Koated Nights talk franchise and the ability to translate her idea of a sex toy line into actual products.
Sheree Whitfield was also able to get NeNe to change her tune about “cashing Trump checks” when she brought up that Piers Morgan, the 2008 Celebrity Apprentice champ, revealed that he was paid about $25,000 to appear on the show. Even if NeNe was paid double that for appearing on the show, that isn’t exactly grounds for calling oneself rich.
