*Tyra Banks is giving “America’s Next Top Model” one of those overhaul makeovers usually saved for the contestants.
She has fired her longtime costars J. Alexander, Jay Manuel and Nigel Barker, reports the New York Post.
Banks herself confirmed the news, tweeting, “Fierce & love 2 my Nigel, Jay & Miss J. ANTM turned us in2 a family. Excited for what the future holds for us.”
According to the Post, the trio was informed yesterday that their contracts would not be renewed for the 19th season.
Executive producer Ken Mok said in a statement that Barker, Manuel and Alexander “have been amazing assets to the show and will always be part of the Top Model family. We will continue to actively work with each of them on future projects.”
Amid the current Cycle 18’s lower-than-average ratings, Barker says that he wasn’t surprised that his contract isn’t being renewed. He says he has no hard feelings toward host and executive producer Banks.
“We had an incredible run and there aren’t any hard feelings,” the photographer tells E! Online. “This isn’t a Tyra thing. This is a network thing.”
Manuel took to his blog to comment. “Thank you all for your kind words. It’s true, after 18 cycles, I will not be returning to America’s Next Top Model. Most importantly, I must give a big thank you to all our fans!” he wrote. “I’ve truly been blessed to work on a show that was recognized and loved around the world. I’ll take with me memories and lessons that will last a lifetime.”

I’m taking this to be that the show is also history!
