*TIME magazine has named its 100 Most Influential people of the year. And guess who is on the list? Viola Davis and Rihanna. The two stars join the ranks of famous politicians like President Barack Obama.
The mother of Hollywood, Cicely Tyson, shared some kind words of encouragement to Davis, pushing her along on her journey in the industry.
“As I watch Viola’s career soar, I marvel at her strength, stamina and amazing spirit, which I believe comes from her faith in the Almighty,” Tyson writes. “She has taken an opportunity not just to set a standard but to redefine it.”
Davis has definitely made a friend in Tyson, as she complimented the gracefully aged actress and thanked her for paving the way for up and coming women like herself.
“This acknowledgement speaks to the richness of her soul and how she has carried out her life as a mother, wife and actress. She affords me great hope for the future,” concluded Tyson.
As far as Rihanna is concerned, the young singer has definitely made waves in the past year, breaking music records, earning 11 number one singles. She continues to press on and make it happen for her fans and for herself.
In other news from TIME, the magazine also announced that Rihanna and Raphael Saadiq will kick off the TIME 100 Gala with special performances on April 24.

Congratulations to President Obama making the lsit but of course that is a no brainer. Also the wonderful and talented Oscar nominated Viola Davis and and my girl the wonderful Adele after the record breaking year she had dominating the music scene worldwide and kicking azz at the grammys she made the lsit too.
As I’ve gotten older, I’ve grown weary of the lists that contain “no brainers”, and newly minted award winners. A dry Depend carry more weight.
We live in a sad world when talentless broads (notice I didn’t say women) like Rihanna make TIME magazine. TIME might as well have included a neighborhood crackhead on that list!
By the way, Viola, when she is wearing her natural hair, is absolutely stunning!
