Whoopi Goldberg and Don Lemon Support Saying the N-Word

whoopi goldberg *Whoopi Goldberg is an outspoken woman and has no shame in what she believes.

“The View” co-host said she totally supports journalists saying the full n-word. But she isn’t alone. CNN’s Don Lemon actually initiated the conversation.

Lemon said, “I hate saying ‘the n-word.’ I think it takes the value out of what that word really means. Especially when we’re reporting it. And I don’t care what color the reporter is. I think someone should say, that person called someone ‘nigger,’ instead of saying ‘the n-word,’ because I think it sanitizes it.” Lemon added that he hates the use of the word in music and when it’s used for misogynistic purposes. “What I’m saying is in the reporting of a story, you should say the word,” he said.

Goldberg professed that it’s not a word that needs to be eliminated.

“It’s part of our history,” she said.

“If I were quoting somebody else, and it’s intrinsic to what the person was saying, then you have to be able to say it,” Walters said.

“That’s what reporters are supposed to do,” Goldberg said.

T he use of that vile and disgusting word is never appropriate whether it is a reporter/anchor person or whomever.

  2. Deuteronomy818 says:

OK.. let’s just suppose.. those who don’t look like Don or KAREN(whoopie)..are callled the n-word..because they acted as such as they have depicted and said– to unsanitize the n-word.. then would they agree? I would think not..you can say this can’t happen to either of the two and probably has..

look people you can’t tell the world its ok for blacks to use the WORD(and why would they against their OWN race? ARE the ONLY race on the planet who does and use a vile word towards their own like SLAVES– compared to others who would dare refer to themselves as in a vile term)

and so Karen(whoopie) and Don.. you can’t haveit BOTH WAYS.. no such thing exist in REALITY.. other races are calling you the N-word NOT in your presence BELIEVE that’s for sure.. if you don’t BELIEVE? Ask the CEO’s of Texaco..and how many millions they had to fork out as result using code lanaguage in their board room to keep BLACKS from becoming managers within Texaco..

As far as(karen her real name)..I mean whoopie– she has may millions using the n-word as apart of her stand-up routine as a comic.. cussing like a sailor..using every imaginable cuss-gutter word-racial slurs and some even maded up..

I’m for striking the n-word from the dictionary.. the word is what it is.. and blacks have NO ownership to the word…because the word was not created by them..but used against blacks—which is the orgin of the word NOT CHANGED–which means you are VILE, disgusting, uneducated, ignorant & immoral .. and this meaning will always be– today, tomorrow, and another 100 years from today..

Here again ANOTHER disparity of the MIS-EDUCATION OF THE NEGRO within the African American communities that doesn’t need to happen..

    Whoopie and Don..should be shamed!..

  3. Shoelover says:

I think I understand what Don is saying. In reporting the NEWS, he does not feel that REPORTERS should say the phrase “the N word” in place of the word “N***er” because saying the phrase takes away, detracts from the true ugliness of the story being reported. He does not want the stories sanitized, made pretty and unoffensive. He wants the impact of the ugliness to ring out loud and clear for all to hear.

I don’t know where I fall on this issue…..but I definitly think I understand the point. Reporters should not sugarcoat.

  4. MrUnapologetic69 says:

Actually, I don’t have a problem with a reporter using the N-word in the context of a direct quote while reporting the news. Don and Whoopie have it right – I think. I, personally, believe before we as black people can begin to really ask and/or demand non-black people to not use the N-word at all we need to stop using it so freely. And for the record I’ve heard ALL the reason why we as a people should be able to use it and I don’t agree with NONE OF IT! It’s BS. That’s my 1cent.

  5. justsayin says:

So if they should be able to say Ni**a then they shoud be able to say ALL expletives when quoting people. They should articulate the entire “mother*ucka, AZZhole, Shyt, bullshyt biatch azz Ni**ga” words, no bleeps, no abbreviations, no bleeps! Just as it is not ok for ANYONE to say it, it should not be ok for it to be repeated, but if it is is exempted because a reporter is “quoting” someone, than the rest of the inappropriate (to say the least) should also fall under that exemption, based on Whoopi and Lemon’s theory.

  6. Speaking of Whoopi Goldberg – Good ol’ Aunt Jane was recently caught farting on tv. She had no idea the mic picked up her sounds.
