*Robert Zemeckis’ Paramount drama “Flight,” starring Denzel Washington as a distressed pilot, will open nationwide on Nov. 2, 2012 — smack dab in the middle of awards season.
Flight marks Zemeckis’ first return to live-action movie since “Cast Away” and “What Lies Beneath,” both released in 2000.
“Flight,” also starring Don Cheadle, John Goodman, Kelly Reilly and Oscar winner Melissa Leo, is about the troubling personal discoveries that follow a pilot’s emergency landing.
Washington plays the pilot, who averts a plane crash only to come under a cloud for possible substance abuse problems. Goodman will play a friend of the pilot who helps him come to terms with his problems.
