*In Joan Rivers’ new book “I Hate Everyone… Starting With Me,” the comedian and host of E!s “Fashion Police” makes a joke about Whitney Houston that has made headlines today — for its timing, at the very least.
Michael Musto of the Village Voice posted the following Houston passage, which is in a section about traveling around the country:
I hate Houston. It’s crawling with bugs. …Oh, wait, that’s Whitney Houston; I’m sorry, my bad. (Can I just mention that Whitney looked fabulous at the Grammys? She was in mahogany from head to toe.)
Houston died unexpectedly in February, with drugs suspected to play a part in her accidental death. Her body was found in her hotel room the day before the Grammys.
Apparently, Rivers felt that enough time had passed to tell her Houston joke. In February, right after Houston’s death, she told Bravo’s Andy Cohen that she had a joke but pulled it after Houston died.
She shocked some with a recent comment at the SAG Awards that Sofia Vergara is “more top heavy than an Italian cruise ship,” soon after the Costa Concordia sank in January.

Why would Joan Rivers joke about Whitney Houston’s death in her new book? To my knowledge I had never heard Whitney or anyone else make a joke about Joan’s husband name Edgar Rosenberg who committed suicide several years ago. It was reported that he was depressed about living. She once said during an interview that her husband Edgar would come up the drive way of their home and think about death. No wonder he felt that way after being married to her for 23 yrs. Joan has always thought that she was funny with her corny , stale a.. Jokes. This old tired bag is 78 years old, almost 80 and has had numerous plastic surgeries to fight off her real looks from the results of aging, and hide them wrinkles etc. Affraid to look her real age at 78, and quite desperate to look young as possible as if she’s in her 30s, 40s, or 50s. She should not attempt to compete with those who are much younger than her. The reality of Joan is that she is an old dried out raisin or prune.
