*One week after announcing his split from wife Shamicka, Martin Lawrence has officially filed for divorce, People reports.
“Out of love and respect for one another we will continue to remain friends and raise our two beautiful daughters together,” they said in a joint statement.
Lawrence and Shamicka were married for less than two years, but had been together for almost 17. They have two daughters ages 9 and 11.
Lawrence is seeking joint custody and is asking that their assets be divided per their prenuptial agreement.

If Marty Mar and current wife have been together almost 17 years, it’s very likely that he cheated on his first wife whom he married in 1995 and divorced in 1997. Either the math ain’t right or maybe that’s one of the reasons he got divorced from the first wife…hmnh.
