*Unfortunately Martin Lawrence’s pilot he shot for CBS won’t get picked up by the net, reports Deadline.
So much for the actor/comedian’s plans to return to network TV. At least for now.

In February, CBS ordered a pilot of Lawrence’s project, a comedy about a single-dad, who at 46, loses his construction job and embarks on a new career as a police offer. Former “Wonder Years” star Fred Savage had signed on to direct.
The comedy would have marked Lawrence’s return to TV after the popular sitcom “Martin,” which aired for 5 seasons in the mid-’90s on Fox.

If he’s not under contract to CBS, he can shop it someplace else.
If, however, he is under contract to CBS he can submit other pilots for himself and/or series ideas for other talent depending on the status/type of contract he has with them. Everyone in the business has projects that haven’t gotten the green light at one time or another. The guy starting in Hawaii Five-O had two series flop while under contract to CBS before finally striking gold with Hawaii Five-O. No big thing; you just keep it moving.
Please, his azz was probably over acting like he was on Martin and almost everything else he has been in. CBS probably said we’re not putting that crap on our channel.
