Justin Combs signing his letter of intent to attend UCLA in the Fall flanked by his mother Misa Hilton Brimm, his grandmother Janice Combs, his maternal grandparents and multi-millionaire dad, Sean 'Diddy' Combs.
*Most people are happy for P. Diddy’s son’s acceptance into UCLA.
Even P. Diddy was shocked that the boy had already gotten to 18 and is graduating from high school.
But plenty of people are trying to rain on their parade with talk of Justin’s full-ride to the university.
The controversy started when folks heard that Justin is receiving a merit based full-ride scholarship to the school worth $54,000.
Many feel that because his dad is worth half a billion dollars, he should let the money go to a more deserving student.
But, the money isn’t awarded because he is P. Diddy’s son, he worked hard to graduate at the top of his class with a 3.75 GPA. (more…)
He seems to be a good kid I have not heard of any problems involving him. Stop the hate he earned the scholarship so if he wants to use it great. What I don’t like is the fact that they needed to have apress conference to show him signing his letter to go there why was that necessary.? My son earned a 4.0 GPA and went to medical school l over 10 years ago with over $100,00 in scholarship money and I wasn’t given a press conference ( I guess I’m jealous huh) LOL!!!!! I’m crazy
It is not a press conference, it is National Signing Day. Any student athelete that signs a scholarship at any high school signs his scholarship in front of the school with their family present, and possible local news media.
Other kids with parents that can well afford their tuition receive scholarships and even preferential treatment at a number of schools around the country…so it’s kinda troubling they are singling him out.
I worked in the financial aid office of an East Coast university that costs $50K a year. Diddy is not married to Justin’s mom, so his income can’t be counted anyway. Rich white kids everyday are getting merit and sports scholarships all over America. Been going on for like 100 hundred years. Rich white parents expect their kids to get grades or sports to pay for college, not out of their own pocket.
Seeing this kid, if I was Diddy there would be a demand for a DNA test. He’s as much this boy father as Jay-Z is his kids…….Quick get Mauy Povich to bust expose these women who lie.
Now as for the subject: His parents income have nothing to do with an athletic scholarship. UCLA is a state school however, athletic scholarships are not funded by tax payer dollars. So this is a non-story.
