*The soon to be Brooklyn Nets just underwent a logo makeover, inheriting a Jay-Z influenced design.
With the move, the team is going to sport a new look with a simple black and white design that dawns a capital B, etched into a basketball, heavily influenced by part owner and Hip Hop mogul of New York, Jigga. But, do you like it?
“The Brooklyn Nets logos are another step we’ve made to usher the organization into a new era,” Jay-Z said in a statement to ESPN. “The boldness of the designs demonstrate the confidence we have in our new direction. Along with our move to Brooklyn and a state-of-the-art arena, the new colors and logos are examples of our commitment to update and refine all aspects of the team.”
Team paraphernalia are now available for fans, however, jerseys will not be available until the fall.
Now that the team has had a makeover, hopefully the Nets will have a better chance at winning a few more games in the new season.

Is it me… because I don’t see anything wrong with the logo. I love it when things are simply stated.
i understand what he was attempting to do with the logo. he was trying to stay true to the new jersey nets brand visa vie, “the shield and ball”. but dayum. have some fucn balls (no pun intended) whydontcha. the team is no longer in new jersey. u dont need to have no got dayum loyalty no dayum mo. did u see the oklahoma thunder have loyalty to that got dayum seattle space needle that was on the sonics uniform? he11 naw. clayton bennett rode his horse out to the northwest and straight up jacked they basketball team from them and brought his wears home and threw they dayum shield on the ground and put his own on the team. he11, “the glove” aint even got nowhere to hang his jersey now. owner said “eff him. we out” brooklyn nets need to do the same thing. dumb fat azzed gubner Krispey Kreme done already talked trash about the team too. he11 naw. eliminate all traces of new jersey on that dayum jersey. over.
You guys are all giving Jay-Z WAY TOO MUCH CREDIT for this, whether it be good or bad. Jay (I’m proud of him) is a MINORITY OWNER! He doesn’t make major decisions for the franchise whatsover. We just see him a lot because he is famous and it’s a good look for the company. This is the same as Magic with the Dodgers. The MAJORITY OWNER (Mikhail) is the guy who runs the show here. He is the guy who says this is the logo/colors/etc.
Al…maybe they agreed to give jay creative control. I mean…I love me some Jay but I don’t like the logo or the name. They should consider changing both.
