Marvin Winans carjack suspects

*The Rev. Marvin Winans is making headway in his case against three carjackers who robbed him of his vehicle at a gas station outside of Detroit on May 16.

On Monday, the singer and church founder identified Montoya Givens, Christopher Moorehead, and Brian Young as his assailants.

The men are being charged with carjacking, unarmed assault and conspiracy.

Winans told authorities that he suspected trouble when he pulled up to the CITGO gas station at Linwood and Davison when he saw “10 to 12 black young men.”

He thought about turning around, but decided that he would not be “afraid of us.”

When he left out of the store, four people came out. Shortly after beginning to fill his tank, he was pummeled and someone else took off with his 2012 Infiniti QX56. Someone also removed his $20,000 watch and took his money.
