*The NAACP is getting involved in the controversial arrest of mega church preacher, Creflo Dollar.
The leader of World Changers Church International was arrested on June 8 after midnight on charges of simple battery and cruelty to children.
Fayette County deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call. Authorities say Dollar physically assaulted his 15-year-old daughter.
But the civil rights organization is calling it discipline.
“Today, many parents in any household have vivid recollections of being firmly disciplined during childhood and can directly reflect on how that discipline made them better adults. In order to ensure fairness, the NAACP wants to make sure that first responders to alleged domestic parent/child dispute calls are skillfully trained to clearly distinguish discipline from child abuse,” the NAACP press release said.
The local branch president also commented on the issue, saying that it’s the right of parents to discipline their children in order to protect them from the wiles of society, including jail.
“African-American children suffer the most in this situation. The parents are in a dilemma whether to forgo disciplining their children or to leave it up to law enforcement. Should we be apathetic, lax or indifferent and let the courts send our unruly children to jail or should we as parents do our duty and appropriately discipline our children? These are the questions every parent is asking today. The responsibility of the NAACP is to get out front and ask these culturally sensitive questions that affect the fundamental cause of freedom, equality and justice.”

NAACP is about to make a bad situation worse.
For what reason does the NAACP have interest in a family’s squabble?
First they made the ridiculous “we support gay marriage” political move. Now they’re getting into family issues?
Well, I tried to warn y’all from the start that we got to be careful about the real motive behind this arrest. Parents are expected to discipline their children, so what’s so different about this case. How often do parents get arrested for disciplining their children? Why did that cop had to go out of his way to coerce the older daughter to write a more incriminating statement against her father? Folks, remember that this is a society which specializes in the warehousing of AA as one means to limit their progress. Did the cop not only saw an opportunity to put an “uppity N” in his place, but to also increase the chance that another blk child will be left out there to be targeted by them. Nah, this is not saying that black kids are more likely to be involved in delinquent behavior, but the ones who are, are way more likely to be arrested than their yt counter parts.
“39 percent of white teens and 37 percent of Latinos reported having abused substances in the past year, compared to 32 percent of blacks and 24 percent of Asians.”
But yet,
“In the 1990s, the juvenile black drug arrest rate was nearly three times that of whites, and in 2008 it remained almost double.”
As the NAACP says, “it’s the right of parents to discipline their children in order to protect them from the wiles of society, including jail.”
Yeah, they said it. Blk ppl got to view the law in the same way we view other threats, such as mugging, scammers, illicit drugs…
