Rodney King’s Fiancee’s Story of How He Died Believed by Police

rodney king & cyntha kelly*In an earlier story, we reported that a couple friends of Rodney King thought that his fiancee’s story about the events surrounding his death on Sunday were kind of fishy.

But it seems that Rialto, California police don’t have a problem with Cynthia Kelly’s account of what happened.

Law enforcement sources say they’ve concluded Kelley has been “cooperative and forthright” in her account of the events leading up to Rodney King’s death.

Earlier TMZ reported that several of King’s friends tell us Kelley changed her story several times — that she heard Rodney banging on the window at around 5 AM Sunday and then heard him fall in the pool.  The 2 friends spoke with cops, expressing doubt about her story.

Our law enforcement sources say they have no reason to question Kelley’s honesty.  As one law enforcement source said, “People in the neighborhood are just speculating.”

Our sources say as of now, this is still being investigated as an accidental death with no foul play.

In other words, there are no suspects or people of interest.

Of course they believe her, the less L.A. and L.A. Police have to do with him or him AND his death, the better. They’ve been ready to wrap Rodney up, neat and tidy for the longest. Too many stories as far as Im concerned . . . . . .R.I.P. Rodney.

  2. If it turns out that Rodney was drinking, then I will give her story a little more credence. But for now, there are too much weird details. It’s as if Rodney was in a state of disorientation. One minute he is banging on the door then the next he fell in the pool. If he was sober, he would know exactly where the pool is. And even if he fell in, he is a strong swimmer so why would he drown?

So was he disoriented from drinking or was it something else?

King was still plagued with health problems from the beating 20 years later despite years of physical therapy. Reporters noted that because of his brain injuries King would lose his train of thought easily mid-conversation.

Was he so messed up that he could completely lose his bearing with respect to space and time?
