*Uh oh. Rodney King is barely dead 24 hours and there’s already drama.

TMZ is reporting that two of Rodney King’s close friends aren’t buying his fiancée’s story about what happened leading up to his death and have gone to the police.

Cynthia Kelley, who was engaged to King, says she was awakened by the sound of him banging on the window of their home just after 5:00 AM on Sunday and then heard him fall in the pool.

But sources close to King say they heard Kelley tell the story several times to friends and each time it changed a little bit. Plus, it seemed to them that she was lying about something.

TMZ also reports that two of Kelley’s friends who spoke with her in the hours following King’s death have also gone to police. A detective took down their story and their information and said he would be in touch.

Meanwhile the Rialto, California police department says so far they’ve discovered no signs of foul play, but is conducting a drowning investigation and an autopsy will be performed.

Hmmm! I read where neighbors heard Mr King crying out loud and then there wasa splash and later on he was found in the bottom of the pool, seems suspect to me perhaps we will hear more about what happened in the days and weeks to come. So sad to hear this news RIP Mr King

  2. But why would he be banging on the door? Shouldn’t the door still be opened if he was in the backyard and she was gone to sleep?
When I first heard the story I immediately thought of Gary Coleman. Why didn’t she pull him from the pool and do CPR?
Oh, he was in the deep end and she can’t swim?

But what would be her motive? Does Rodney have a huge life insurance policy? They not yet married. But then again, in some of those states, common law is just the same as being married.

Once I read that the “fiancee” had been on the jury, I was immediately suspicious. “Fiancee” my ass. If he wanted to marry this woman, he would’ve done it long ago. I hope they get to the bottom of this. They’ll find her down there, I’m sure.

BTW, California is not a state that recognizes common law marriages.

  3. I have reason to believe Rodne’y's fiancee is not telling the truth about this incident and isattempting to protect what really happen and not to incriminate herself. Makes you wonder if Rodney and his fiancee had a fight / argument or if he was high on drugs and fell into the pool accidentally, or intentionally? The neighbors had reported that they heard something going on, and someone crying in the backyard etc. For all we know she could have easily pushed him in the pool while he was high or tripping etc. Something with this story does not quite sound right.

“Cynthia Kelley, who was engaged to King, says she was awakened by the sound of him banging on the window of their home just after 5:00 AM on Sunday and then heard him fall in the pool.” *Rodney had purchased this fixer up type home, so why would he have to bang on the window of his home? Within time the real truth will prevail.
