*Matt Uzzle, a top executive for the “Sherri” show was found dead in his Piermont, NY, home on Feb. 13.
According to Page Six, Uzzle died of an apparent suicide. His primary role on the daytime talk show was managing production and overseeing the budget. His death comes amid an investigation into financial discrepancies on the show.
CinemaBlend reports that Uzzle was scrutinized over “issues with petty cash and the rent for the show’s Chelsea studio in NYC that had not been paid since September 2023,” the outlet writes.
“There was real concern among staff that the show was getting shut down. Debmar had to step in,” a source revealed, per Page Six.
When asked about the show’s financial irregularities, Uzzle said he “needed a few days to organize his paperwork.”

When staffers received no communication from Uzzle, the police conducted a welfare check and discovered him deceased in his home.
The show’s production company, Debmar-Mercury, released a statement that said, “We have retained [law firm] Morgan Lewis to help us investigate the matter and, pending the outcome of that investigation, we’ll have no further comment.”
According to Page Six, Uzzle’s death is under police investigation.
