*It’s official – Screen Gems has announced that it will move forward with a sequel to “Think Like a Man,” the box office hit based on Steve Harvey’s relationship book, “Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.”
The African American ensemble comedy grossed more than $91 million in the U.S. after its theatrical opening in April. That made it one of the year’s most profitable comedies, as it only cost a rock-bottom $12 million.
Keith Merryman and David A. Newman will return as screenwriters, reports the Los Angeles Times, but Screen Gems has yet to announce if the sequel will retain its original cast, which included Kevin Hart, Michael Ealy, Taraji P. Henson, Gabrielle Union and Terrence Jenkins.
The studio also was mum about whether Tim Story, the original film’s director, would be on board for the sequel.
