’47 Meters Down: Uncaged’ Cast Talks Pros and Cons of Filming Underwater (EUR Exclusive/WATCH)

*Who doesn’t love a suspenseful nail-biting shark movie? Well, the new thriller, “47 Meters Down: Uncaged,” gives you all of that and more.

EURweb correspondent L.Marie sat down with the cast to talk about the film. Similar to the first movie (“47 Meters), “47 Meters Down: Uncaged” was filmed mostly underwater, 80% of the film to be exact.

“Sometimes it felt like we weren’t acting because we were in those circumstances. So it was easy at times and difficult also,” said Brianne Tju explaining her experience filming underwater. In the video above Davi Santos and Khylin Rhambo also talk about the difficulties of acting underwater.

Once again the movie takes place in Mexico where sisters Mia (played by Sophie Nelisse) and Sasha (played by Corinne Foxx) have to adjust to their new family structure in a new town. Brianne Tju’s character takes her friends diving into an unknown Mayan structure. The cast talked about their excitement while filming those scenes.

“It felt so real to be in that environment, the Mayan creation,” said cast member Davi Santos. Even though the cast had those cool moments, filming mostly underwater can be a bit scary. Santos, who plays Tju’s boyfriend, shares with us how he almost panicked during one of his scenes. However, he says they had a great team on set and the crew made sure he was safe and able to finish his scenes.

Can you imagine how much more difficult making this movie could have been for them if they filmed with real sharks?! Bottom line: the cast and crew did a great job with this film. When you see it, it feels so real. As mentioned before this movie is very suspenseful and will have you jumping out of your seat!

“47 Meters Down: Uncaged” hits theaters Friday, August 16. It’s not your normal shark movie, so make sure you check it out.
