*Ford was the exclusive sponsor of the Ford Hot Spot, the backstage area where celebrities and media gathered during the awards show, at this year’s BET awards.
The lounge, featuring plush white sofas adorned with Ford accessories, plenty food and beverage, and plasma monitors airing the show, was like an oasis for those looking to escape the show’s backstage hustle and bustle. That – coupled with the social networking and live action blogging – certainly made for a great experience, but here are 15 reasons the Ford Hot Spot was … well, HOT.

- Boris Kodjoe and Toccara Jones have both been known for their easiness on the eyes, and with them both working the room as hosts of the Ford Hot Spot, it seems to make celebrities and guests want to linger a little longer than they otherwise would’ve.
- Common has transcended his rap career and become both a thespian, author and a poet. His presence certainly added to the hotness factor of the Ford Hot Spot, because makes us so proud.
- The stunningly beautiful Elle Varner brightened up the Ford Hot Spot Spot with eye-catching dress and her infectious charm.
- Everyone’s favorite actress, the incredibly versatile Taraji P. Henson, strolled in the Ford Hot Spot and bloggers and reporters couldn’t get enough of her funny and witty commentary on the evening’s events.
- To stack the deck for women across the globe, Laz Alonso (seen here with Loretta Devine) joined friend Boris Kodjoe in the Ford Hot Spot to keep the distaff traffic flowing.
- The real show stopper and guest of honor in the Ford Hot Spot was the all-new 2013 Ford Fusion. The attractive vehicle took centerstage and drew the awe and respect of all who visited the lounge.
- Tameka “Tiny” Cottle brainchild, the white-hot OMG Girlz, even dropped in to ogle the 2013 Ford Fusion and possibly consider it as their first vehicle since they are just now reaching driving age.
- Besides husband, Carmelo, everybody loves Lala Anthony, star of reality show La La’s Full Court Life. “Look at that girl those daisy dukes on…”
- Teenaged heartthrobs, Mindless Behavior, also within the realm of driving age, also stopped by to check out the 2013 Ford Fusion.
- Usher Raymond may be going through serious travails with his ex-wife, Tameka Foster, right now, but he was his usual charismatic self when he visited the the Ford Hot Spot and spoke with host, Toccarra Jones.
- Go-to-girl award show tribute girl and formidable recording artist Marsha Ambrosius also visited the Ford Hot Spot to enjoy the atomosphere and pose with the 2013 Fusion.
- The reigning queen of Gospel, Yolanda Adams, visited the Ford Hot Spot after performing a riveting gospel medley with Sunday Best Winners and contestants and winning the BET Award for Best Gospel Artist. The statuesque beauty looked stunning and guests couldn’t take their eyes off her.
- BET’s blazing hot series, The Game’s “it girl,” Latasha Mack aka Wendy Raquel Robinson, dropped in to show off her finely tuned physique and unleash her brand of hood-girl comedy.
- Tank, Ginuwine, and Tyrese stopped by the Ford Hot Spot after Tyrese’s riveting tribute to Frankie Beverly and Maze. The guys have such synergy and appeal till they’ve now landed a new record deal so they can do their part in keeping R&B alive.
- The Ford Executive team joined with the BET awards to not only promote their brand, but to contribute to the enjoyment that the show offers each year. Huge kudos go to the company for a job well done, as well as for blessing a lucky viewer with a brand new 2013 Ford Escape. The winner was presented live on air during the PRE-SHOW: LIVE, RED & READY, by Ford’s Multicultural Marketing Manager, Shawn Lollie (seen here with hosts Terrence and Rocsi).
