*Stop outsourcing!
That’s what the U.S. Congress is telling Team USA after they found out their gear was produced in China.
“I am so upset. I think the Olympic committee should be ashamed of themselves. I think they should be embarrassed. I think they should take all the uniforms, put them in a big pile and burn them and start all over again,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., told reporters at a Capitol Hill news conference on taxes.
“If they have to wear nothing but a singlet that says USA on it, painted by hand, then that’s what they should wear,” he said, referring to an athletic jersey.

Well almost eveything we use in this country is made abroad from clothes, TV’s, cell phones, I pods etc so this comes as no big surprise.

No Harry. You and all of Congress should be ashamed of yourselves for allowing outsourcing to continue unabated. What difference would it make to the US economy if these uniforms were made here while all the other outsourcing continues?
Outsourcing and the theft of US intellectual property is the basic reason why the US economy is floundering, and until that is addressed, the economy will never recover. It can’t be that difficult to pass laws to discourage outsourcing. All you got to do is increase the customs and other fees on imported products which can be made here. Every other country does it.
But that will never happen with someone like Mitt Romney as president who makes his wealth by outsourcing jobs and hiding his money in foreign accounts. You also have a chamber of commerce which encourages outsourcing and a sitting president who is afraid to even call them out. Neither the Democrats nor the Republicans give a shit and most voters are too clueless to use their vote to do anything about it. So it’s just a matter of time before the great American empire collapse.
