En Vogue Breaks Up; Group Splits into Two Groups

en vogue*For whatever reason EnVouge has always had issues among themselves.

Now comes word that the group has split into two factions.

Dawn Robinson says she’s and Maxine Jones are going off in a different direction than the other two original members, Terry Ellis and Cindy Herron.

Robinson broke the news via Twitter:

MAXINE & I HAVE LEFT THE BUILDING & NOW WE’RE REHEARSING FOR AN EV TOUR W 2 “NEW” GIRLS. WE WILL BE IN UR CITY SOON SO COME PARTY WITH US!”

Later, she added:

Max & I are thrilled at all the love we are receiving from each of u! This is gonna be FUN. We appreciate being lifted up so high…blessings to each of you,” she later added.

We’re not sure what precipitated the split, but Terry and Cindy are saying either. They did write a lengthy response, however.

Dear EnVogue fans,

In regards to the recent twitter and facebook posts alleging that Terry and Cindy have replaced Maxine Jones with Rhona, we would like to respond. Terry and Cindy are not replacing Maxine Jones. We have however asked Rhona to fill in temporarily so that we can continue to bring live shows to our fans. Thus far, Rhona has only done three shows with us since June 2012. The group has always added someone whenever a member has been unable or unwilling to perform or has left the group. Terry and I have not kicked Maxine out of the group. There are always two sides to a story and many internal facts that you the fans aren’t hearing about. In an effort to not air dirty laundry, or appear to point the finger at anyone, we respectfully choose to remain silent on the internal issues. We appreciate you the fans continuing to support EnVogue individually, and as a whole.

Thank you,

Cindy and Terry

So now that we’ve brought you all the preceding info, you’re probably wondering just who is going to use the name EnVouge. That’s the $64 million question. As of now we don’t know.

OMG why can’t the write spell ‘E-N V-O-G-U-E’??!! I mean hell, Cindy spelled it in her letter, ‘VOGUE’ is one of the most famous fashion magazines in the world, Madonna did a song called ‘VOGUE’, WHAT’S THE ISSUE, PEOPLE?!!?!?

  6. That sucks. I really liked them…

  7. Most likely Cindy and Terry get to use the En Vogue name. They have been the most consistent. When Dawn was gone (with Lucy Pearl, solo albums) then Rhona was in the mix. They are all very pleasant and cool women- all of them, including Rhona. It’s a shame that they were so exploited early in their careers because that has to mess with your soul, doing all that work and being played financially by your exec producers. I wish them well. I’ve met them more than once in my work in the business and they’re good girls.

  8. I beg to differ, but Dawn Robinson is all DRAMA has a very known shitty attitude & reputation through out the industry. She’s a fucking diva that nags & complains about everything, or anything. Very difficult to work with. For those who might not remember she was the very one responsible for destroying En Vogue’s success as a group, especially when her crazy ass all of a sudden up & left the group in 96. Since things wasn’t going her way or in the direction she felt it should. Dawn failed to make it on her own as a solo artist. She had joined the group Lucy Pearl and started shit with Raphael Saadig. Then Raphael kicked her troublesome ass out of that group due to attitude. Next Dawn was suppose to work on a project with Dr. Dre, who apparently got word on this bitch or saw her attitude a mile away and squash the project. Dawn’s track record really speaks for itself and her ex husband put her ass on blast in regard to porno site and wanting to swing with other couples. I had no idea that her sorry ass was even back with EnVouge until the above article had given indication. Surprised to learn from this reporting that the original members had even got back together as group. However, I’m the least surprised that this didn’t work out for Dawn a second or third time around.

@muzyk Way to regurgitate something you read online. You aren’t in the industry like that. I can pull up the link that you read that from also. Stop acting like you’re some insider who knows what they’re talking about.
